PR men gun for Aravind
Senior leaders in the Praja Rajyam are reportedly angry with the party general secretary, Mr Allu Aravind, as the allegations over the cash-for-seat are believed to have led to its defeat. They spoke out on the issue at the political affairs committee meeting of the party on Thursday.

In the meeting which was convened to find out the exact reasons for the PR’s debacle, senior members like Mr Ch. Harirama Jogaiah, Mr K. Vidyadhara Rao and Mr K. Padma Rao reportedly criticised Mr Aravind’s role in the party. The leaders squarely blamed the cash-for-seat allegations for the poll debacle. Mr Aravind was peeved at the allegations and reportedly walked out. There were also rumours that he had resigned.

However, Chiranjeevi dismissed the rumours. Some leaders also blamed Mr Jogaiah for Chiranjeevi’s defeat in Palacole. They reportedly found fault with him for pressurising the PR chief to contest from Palacole without analysing his prospects.

Perturbed by this allegation, even Mr Jogaiah left the meeting abruptly. He declined to comment on the developments. Chiranjeevi then scrapped the committee. “The political affairs committee passed a resolution to dissolve the present body as everyone responsible for the PR’s poor show,” Mr C. Ramachandraiah said after the meeting.
